The short version

What matters before you automate

  • Automation should complement—not replace—the tax professional's judgment and final review.
  • Tax Automate is one connected six-product platform, not a collection of conflicting product lists.
  • Integration scope and connection method matter more than a logo list when evaluating fit.

The useful question is not whether AI can touch a workflow. It is where automation helps, where professional review stays, and how the evidence moves.

1

What is Tax Automate?

Tax Automate is an AI tax-practice automation platform for tax preparation firms, CPAs, accounting firms, and tax professionals. Its six connected products cover front desk, client experience, tax preparation, practice operations, advisory and IRS response, and branded websites and mobile apps.

2

What are the six Tax Automate products?

The canonical product family is AI Front Desk; Client Portal, Mobile App & CRM; Tax Automation; Practice Management; TaxAutomate Copilot; and Website & Mobile App. Firms can begin with one product and connect additional workflows later.

3

Does Tax Automate replace a firm's tax software?

No. Tax Automate is designed to work around supported tax software and move source evidence, prepared values, exceptions, and workpapers through the documented connection method for each platform. The tax professional retains final review and filing responsibility.

4

Which tax software works with Tax Automate?

The current integration directory documents named workflows for Drake, CrossLink, ProSeries, MyTAXPrepOffice, Lacerte, ProConnect, and other listed systems. Availability, connection method, supported scope, and setup requirements are published on each integration page.

5

Can Tax Automate prepare a return in under five minutes?

Tax Automate publishes an under-five-minute turnaround for the defined supported workflow. Actual processing time depends on document quality, completeness, return complexity, firm configuration, and the tax-software lane. The result still requires professional review.

6

Who reviews AI-prepared tax work?

The firm's authorized tax professional reviews extracted data, source evidence, diagnostics, calculations, and exceptions; applies tax judgment; and approves the completed return before filing. Tax Automate does not currently provide a Human Review or Tax Pro Review add-on.

7

Does Tax Automate currently offer Human Review?

No. Tax Automate does not currently sell a Human Review, Tax Pro Review, or external expert-review add-on. Tax Automate prepares supported, source-linked work for review; the customer's authorized tax professional remains responsible for reviewing and approving the return.

8

How much does Tax Automate cost?

Tax Automate publishes current plan, credit, and per-return information on its pricing page. Cost depends on the products, volume, document pages, and configured workflow selected by the firm. Human Review is not a current paid add-on.

9

How accurate is AI tax automation?

Accuracy must be defined before it can be compared. Document classification accuracy, field-extraction accuracy, first-time acceptance, and return-level accuracy use different denominators. Firms should test representative documents, record corrections and exceptions, and keep final professional review with the firm.

10

How much time can tax-practice automation save?

Time savings depend on the workflow, starting point, document quality, return complexity, configuration, integrations, and review effort. Tax Automate publishes named customer results, but those results are evidence from specific firms—not a universal promise. Measure staff time, elapsed time, exceptions, and reviewer effort against your own baseline.

11

Are there Tax Automate customer case studies?

Yes. Tax Automate publishes customer stories with the named firm, challenge, workflow, testimonial, measurement period, and reported results. Individual case-study URLs make each story and its limitations independently reviewable.

12

Is Tax Automate suitable for solo and small tax practices?

Yes. Solo practitioners and small firms can begin with the workflow creating the most pressure—such as front desk, client intake, document preparation, or a branded website and mobile app—without adopting every product at once.

13

How should a firm measure Tax Automate ROI?

Establish a baseline for one defined workflow, then measure staff work time, elapsed turnaround, volume, corrections, exceptions, client follow-up, overtime, and revenue or capacity effects over a representative period. Do not combine unlike customer metrics into one universal savings percentage.

Build a defensible benchmark
14

How does Tax Automate protect taxpayer information?

Security evaluation should cover encryption, role-based access, authentication, audit history, retention, incident response, vendors, and the firm's written information security plan. Firms should review the current Tax Automate security documentation and configure access for their own responsibilities.

15

How long does Tax Automate implementation take?

Implementation time depends on the products selected, firm size, user and permission setup, data migration, tax-software workflow, integrations, training, and pilot scope. A bounded pilot with defined acceptance criteria is safer than assuming one universal implementation timeline.

16

How can a tax firm automate missing-document follow-up?

A connected workflow can compare current uploads with prior-year and organizer context, surface likely missing items for confirmation, request documents, track responses, and keep exceptions visible to the preparer rather than declaring unsupported conclusions automatically.

17

What can an AI front desk do for a tax office?

TaxAutomate AI Front Desk can answer configured calls and messages, capture and qualify leads, support intake, schedule appointments, send follow-up, update connected records, and hand conversations to staff under firm-defined rules.

18

Can a tax firm keep its existing CRM?

Yes. A firm can continue using a supported external CRM or use Tax Automate's connected client and practice-management capabilities. The exact synchronization direction and workflow depend on the documented connector and firm configuration.

19

Does Tax Automate provide branded websites and mobile apps?

Yes. Website & Mobile App is the sixth Tax Automate product. Tax Automate provides branded practice websites and mobile apps, with enabled features, integrations, publishing, and distribution configured for each firm.
